New details about man who killed pregnant wife and daughters emerge
The man convicted of killing his pregnant wife and two young daughters has given more information to investigators about the murders.
Investigators visited Colorado man Chris Watts at the Dodge Correctional Institution in Wisconsin on February 18, US outlet ABC News reports.
During the visit, Watts “provided investigators with additional information about the murders of Shanann, Bella, and Celeste,” the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said in a statement on Thursday local time.
The CBI said it planned to release a written report and audio file of the interview on March 7 and would not give any further information until then.
In November, Watts was sentenced to life without parole for the August 2018 murders of his wife Shanann, 34, and their children Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3.
Watts pleaded guilty to all charges. In exchange, prosecutors did not pursue the death penalty, Weld County District Attorney’s office said.
After his wife and daughters went missing, Watts spoke to reporters, saying they had vanished without a trace.
“My kids are my life,” he said at the time. “I mean, those smiles light up my life.”
Days later, Watts was arrested and the bodies of his wife and children were found.
The children’s bodies were found in oil tanks on the property of a former employer, while his wife’s body was found nearby in a shallow grave.
