New details emerge in hunt for gunman in brazen jewellery heist filmed by shoppers

Police have released images of a masked armed robber and his getaway car after he ransacked an Adelaide jewellery store in front of terrified customers.

The jewel thief – wearing a balaclava and armed with a shotgun, hammer and meat cleaver – raided the shop at the Arndale Shopping Centre at Kilkenny about 12.45pm on Sunday before taking off in a grey Ford Territory.

As police continue to hunt for the jewel thief on Monday morning, they have released new information about his getaway car in the hope someone may recognise it.

“The suspect left in a dark grey Ford Territory, SA rego S044BBR, however these number plates are not registered to the suspect vehicle,” SA Police said in a statement.
