Australians in Western Australia will now be able to access the $1,500 Pandemic Leave Disaster Payment after the State and federal Governments etched an agreement on Tuesday .

The payments will be available to workers who are unable to earn an income as they must quarantine, self-isolate or care for someone with coronavirus, and who do not have access to paid sick leave or other forms of income support like JobSeeker or JobKeeper.

They must have been instructed by WA Health to stay home, the joint statement from Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan read.

“People can claim the payment again if their self-isolation, quarantine or caring period is longer than 14 days,” they added.

“To date, more than $13.3 million in Pandemic Leave Disaster Payments has been paid for some 9,000 granted claims since 6 August.”

How do I claim the $1,500 pandemic payment?

The fastest and easiest way to make a claim is over the phone by calling Services Australia on 180 22 66.
