The "neutral" Belarusian won the Australian Open, defeating her Chinese opponent

Aryna Sabalenka won the championship title of the Australian Open 2024, with scores of 3:6, 2:6, in Melbourne on Jan. 27.

In the final match of the tournament, the second-ranked women’s tennis player met her Chinese opponent, Zheng Qinwen.

Sabalenka dominated the match, allowing Qinwen to win only five points in two sets and defending her title, which she won last year.

The match lasted for 1 hour and 17 minutes.

Sabalenka had previously defeated Ukrainian tennis player Lesia Tsurenko on her way to the championship. Qinwen, meanwhile, defeated Dayana Yastremska in the semifinals.
