Neighbours alarmed after woman stands at window without moving for hours

There was something a little off about the outline of a woman who was spotted seemingly staring into a neighbouring apartment for hours on end.

What appeared to be an innocent case of a lady enjoying a coffee and gazing out the window at the view, turned out to be something rather peculiar.

The strange discovery was documented on Twitter by musician Amy Macdonald, who said her friend noticed the figure in the apartment across from her work office on February 4.

“She didn’t really think anything of it. She thought it was just a woman enjoying a coffee whilst looking out the window,” one of several tweets from Ms Macdonald’s account read.

Hours later when the woman hadn’t moved, the woman decided to further investigate.

“She started to get a bit worried when hours had passed and this woman had not moved,” an update read.

She moved to a different area in her building to view the figure from a different angle, and the true reason for the woman’s stagnant appearance was revealed.

It turned out to be an innocent cardboard cutout of Dame Judi Dench.

“To the person who lives in this flat. You have given us the best laugh today,” Ms Macdonald wrote in another Tweet.

She wasn’t the only one amused by the situation, with many others sharing the hilarious case of mistaken identity.

“Was she on a stakeout?” someone jokingly asked.

“Tell her to stop being nosey lol,” another said.
