Report: Hawks trade Cam Reddish to Knicks for Kevin Knox, 2022 first-round pick

The Atlanta Hawks are trading forward Cam Reddish to the New York Knicks, Adrian Wojnarowski reported for ESPN.

The Knicks will also receive forward Solomon Hill and a 2025 second-round pick via the Brooklyn Nets. Hill, 30, is out for the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury. New York will be his sixth team in nine seasons.

Atlanta will receive 22-year-old forward Kevin Knox in the trade and a protected 2022 first-round draft pick via the Charlotte Hornets, per the report. Wojnarowski added the Hawks "had been canvassing [the] league for a mid-first round pick of a young player" in the deal.

The Los Angeles Lakers and Indiana Pacers reportedly discussed a deal for Reddish recently, per the report.

The trade deadline is Feb. 10 and both the Hawks (17-13) and Knicks (21-21) are toiling at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.

The Knicks were reported to be interested in Reddish, who the Hawks had reportedly been making available for a trade, earlier in the week. ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported last week Reddish might be moved because of his contract situation. The Hawks reportedly were shying away from giving the 22-year-old the type of contract he wanted.

Reddish is eligible for a contract extension this summer. His four-year, $19.3 million rookie contract expires following the 2022-23 season and he would become a restricted free agent.

The Hawks drafted Reddish, 22, with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft. The former Duke star is averaging 11.1 points and 3.4 rebounds in his career. He's shooting a career-best 40.2% overall, including 37.9% from 3-point range. He underwent a "non-surgical procedure" in March for a lingering Achilles injury and has missed time this season with an ankle injury. Reddish was inactive for Wednesday's loss to the Miami Heat.
