Mystery surrounds elderly woman abandoned at hospital by man

CCTV footage of the moment a man left an elderly woman outside a Queensland Hospital has been released in an effort to help identify the woman.

Queensland police have appealed for help from the public after the woman was found in a distressed state at Nambour Hospital at around 12.20pm on Sunday.

The woman has been unable to communicate with staff since she was left alone on a chair outside of the hospital by the unknown man.

CCTV footage shows a man believed to be around 60-years-old and Caucasian in appearance, walk the woman to a chair and leave the area immediately after.

The woman is believed to be between 80 and 90 years old. She has a slim build and greying hair.

She was wearing a long brown coat and slippers when she arrived at the hospital.

Queensland police told Yahoo News Australia they had received a few leads but the woman had still not been positively identified.
