'Your life might change': Search for mystery winner of $5.9 million jackpot

A Keno player in Far North Queensland has become a millionaire overnight.

But the winner is yet to come forward to collect their $5,918,503.50 million prize.

The winning entry was purchased in Cairns at Cazalys, a sports bar on Mulgrave Road, on Friday and the game number was 787.

Keno officials are urging people to check their Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot tickets.

“If you had an entry into last night’s Keno draws, you’re in with a chance and it’s worth checking your ticket today. You could be the mystery 10 Spot winner we’re looking for,” Keno spokesperson Matt Hart said.

“Just imagine how your plans for the rest of the weekend and the rest of your life might change with more than $5.9 million coming into your bank account.”

Mr Hart said Keno players can check their tickets at any Keno venue or view the results online.

This is the third major Keno win in the Far North Queensland town this year, according to Keno.

A mother from Cairns won $1.29 million playing Keno in April and another man from Cairns won $1.42 million while he was out dining with his family.

The winning $5.9 million entry was purchased at a sports bar in Cairns, however the winner is yet to come forward.

Jason Wale, the general manager at Cazalys, was very happy for the mystery winner and other Cairns locals who seem to be very lucky of late.

“Tess and Luke win The Block with a win of $730,000, a local mum picked up over a million on Gold Lotto and now a whopping $5.9 million winner on Keno at Cazalys,” Mr Wale said.

“The club’s atmosphere changed instantly last night when everyone saw the winning ticket was from here. We can’t wait for the winner to find out.”

According to Keno, more than $312.79 million has been won across Queensland from June 2018 until June 2019.
