'They are here': Mysterious black ring appears in the sky

At first glance, this daunting black ring looks like something out of a sci-fi movie.

But the circle of smoke featured in a series of viral videos is in fact real and creating a wave of reaction from locals and online.

The ominous ring appeared above Lahore in Pakistan on Tuesday and drifted across the city’s skyline.

“They are here,” one video of the ring was captioned on Twitter, using the hashtag, “alien”.

Another suggested the sky was vaping.

Users began sharing videos from other location including Dubai saying they’d witnessed the same phenomenon elsewhere.

Following reports of a black ring spotted in the sky above Kazakhstan, NBC reported such rings are regularly caused by blast through a circular structure such as a factory chimney.

Other incidents have been credited to firework testing.

A similar occurrence happened at a beach in China in 2017.

While there was a logical explanation for the mysterious ring, it didn’t stop dozens revealing their fear over the smoke ring.

“Should Pakistan be fearful. I am a concerned citizen,” one person said.
