Mustang driver plummets eight storeys from parking garage and SURVIVES
A Mustang driver has been left with a hefty repair bill after plummeting eight storeys from a parking garage.
The Tavares Police Department, in the US state of Florida, said the car was parked on the roof of a building next to a bank when it came off the top floor of the building, landing in a grass patch below on Monday about 3.30pm (local time).
“The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries,” police said.
“The intent of the accident is under investigation at this time.”
It is not known exactly how or why the car was driven off the building.
Lieutenant Sarah Coursey told news site Inside Lake safety cables managed to slow the car down.
She added the car had not been reported stolen.
The driver was named as Jewels Sartin. Sartin allegedly fled the scene after the crash but was apprehended soon afterwards.
Police said the fact Sartin survived is a miracle – a fact not lost on people who saw the wreckage on Facebook.
“Impressive,” one man wrote.
One woman asked: “How did he run from that vehicle?”
“We were just beside it on the tow truck wondering what happened. We can’t believe someone survived the damage of the vehicle,” another woman wrote.
