This week Cillian Murphy's Limited Edition radio programme will return to BBC Radio 6 Music.
Murphy said: “It’s been a while, but I am thrilled to be back playing tunes on 6 Music, my favourite radio station in the world… the show will be a sound collage of new, old and limited edition tunes for your discerning ears… can’t wait.”
He has previously completed two installments, which aired in the autumns of 2020 and 2021.
When is the show?
The show will stream its first episode on Sunday, September 17 at 10pm on BBC Radio 6 Music.
Murphy has previously played a diverse range of artists on his radio show including records by Marvin Gaye, Max Richter, Micah P. Hinson, Nick Cave, Nils Frahm, Nina Simone, Patti Smith, Pixies, PJ Harvey, Prince, The Stooges, Thin Lizzy, Thom Yorke, Wu-Lu, Bicep, Big Thief, Carly Simon, David Bowie, Grace Jones, Julia Holter, Laura Marling, Laura Veirs and Madlib.
How to listen to Cillian Murphy's Limited Edition
You can listen to Radio 6 Music for free on BBC Sounds online or on the app.
If you’re a regular listener to Radio 6 Music, the station has officially announced a change in schedule.
Don Letts will transfer his Culture Clash Radio show from its current Sunday 10pm–12am time slot to Saturday nights (9pm–11pm) starting on Saturday, September 16. After The Blessed Madonna made the "gutting decision" to loosen up on her work schedule amid intensive travelling and recording, Letts' concert will partially replace her Saturday (9pm–12am) performances.
Murphy revealed that he has always had a strong interest in music and that, after signing a record deal as a youngster, he almost chose to pursue a career in music rather than acting.
Speaking on BBC Radio 6 Music last year, Murphy explained: “I played in bands in my teens and then when I was about 18 or 19, we were offered a deal and it didn’t work out. So that was the end of the dream.”
