Mum devastated over toddler's death after he was 'left in hot car'


An investigation is underway after the death of a child in Sydney’s west.

A call was made to emergency services about a one-year-old boy locked inside a car outside a Chester Hill home on Sunday about 3.30pm (local time).

When emergency services arrived, the boy was found unconscious and unable to be revived.

It is believed the child was left in a hot car.

The boy’s mum arrived shortly afterwards. She ran down the street in distress, yelling: “My baby.”

She had left the boy under the care of family, 7News understands.

It is also believed he was a twin.

A short time later an older woman was wheeled out of the home by paramedics and treated for shock.

The temperature in Sydney’s west reached about 30C on Sunday.

The cause of the child’s death is yet to be determined.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
