Mum slammed for 'disgusting' act in plane aisle

A mum has been slammed on social media after a photograph emerged of her letting her toddler use a potty in the aisle of a plane mid-flight.

The unidentified mother is shown crouching beside the child as she relieves herself in front of shocked passengers.

The picture was uploaded to the Passenger Shaming Instagram page, which is dedicated to calling out revolting behaviour by travellers around the world.

“TRAVEL PARENTING TIP: Use the lavatory for your child,” the post accompanying the picture reads.

“Backstory: Parent brings own potty seat on board, sets it in aisle midflight to have child use (in front of everyone), when discovered by crew was advised she couldn’t do this & would need to utilise the unoccupied lavatory…and her reply…“I don’t give a s**t!”

Instagram users were left scratching their heads.

So what did she do with the deposit!?” one person wondered.

“NEVER OK! Gross!” another observed.

“Just wrong for so many reasons but a parent should never force their child to go to the bathroom in front of an airplane full of people,” wrote another.

Others were less harsh.

Not that I would do this, but it is impossible to change a diaper on a plane,” one person said.

“The shelf you lay your kid on is very small and unsafe.”

However, the general consensus was that letting your child go to the toilet just centimetres away from passengers in a confined space was not on.

“As a mom who frequently traveled with a toddler, there is NO excuse for this,” one mother wrote.

“This is beyond inconsiderate – it’s entitlement at its worst. It’s also a health hazard.

“I hope she’s banned from future flights.”

Passenger Shaming was founded five years ago by a former flight attendant.

Other behaviour shown in recent posts include a passenger putting dirty bare feet on another passenger’s chair, a man asleep under a row of seats and a man trying to heat a slice of pizza by holding it under the plane’s reading lights.
