Mum posts smiling selfie with son just hours before they're found dead
A police officer has reportedly shot her two-year-old son in the head before killing herself with a bullet to the neck.
The shooting took place at the family residence in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday.
The victims have been identified as Federal Police agent Belen Aquino, 29, and her young son, whose body was found next to his mum's on a bed.
According to the police, a pistol was found in the mother's right hand and she had a gunshot wound to her neck. Her son had a gunshot wound to his head.
It was the young woman's mum who reportedly first discovered the bodies and called the police.
She told the police she was in a different part of the house at the time and heard two gunshots from the back of the property at around 9am.

She then rushed to the back of the house where she made the grim find.
Just hours before the alleged crime, Belen had shared a smiling photo of herself and her son on Facebook.
Following the tragedy, her friend, Adrian Eduardo Szmoisz, commented: "It's totally unbelievable. We spoke a few days ago and you told me you were really well.
"I can't believe it. I hope you continue having fun with your baby. Until we meet again, Belu."
The police are investigating the case and are currently working with the murder-suicide hypothesis, although they do not yet have a possible motive.
