A young mother froze to death after climbing over her fence while intoxicated, an inquest has heard.
Hedwig Taaru, 26, was found dead on March 7 this year in an icy field near the River Thames in Purley, England.
A postmortem found she died from hypothermia while experiencing alcohol intoxication, The Mirror reported.
The inquest heard Ms Taaru had visited a shop at 8.30pm the night before her body was found, although it’s unclear exactly how she reached the field.
Ms Taaru has a three-year-old son, Isiah, who she adored and frequently posted on her social media pages.
Ms Taaru’s sister, Katarina Taaru, said she had talked to her sister the day before her death and described her as “loving and kind”.
"I was only speaking to her the night before her death and I couldn't tell she was depressed or anything,” Katarina told the Reading Chronicle in March.
"She had been depressed for a long time though and she was on medication but in my eyes she was okay."
The inquest has been adjourned for a later date.
