The former boyfriend of a mum, 26, and her son, 9, has been arrested after the pair were found stabbed to death at a home.

Police discovered the bodies of Bethany Vincent and son Darren at a property in Louth, Lincolnshire, in the UK, on Monday about 8:30pm (local time).

Both had suffered multiple stab wounds from a knife found inside the house, Lincolnshire police said.

Another young child was also found in the home, but was uninjured and is now being looked after.

A manhunt was then launched to find Daniel Boulton, who is Ms Vincent’s former boyfriend.

It came to an end 16 hours later when the 29-year-old was arrested, police said.

“This has been a tragic, extraordinary, and worrying set of circumstances in equal measure,” Lincolnshire Police’s Head of Crime, Detective Chief Superintendent Andy Cox, said.

“A woman and child have lost their lives in the most devastating way and I know that their loved ones will be feeling the magnitude of that today and our thoughts go out to them."

Boulton is now being held for questioning, officers said.
