A mother who plunged to her death from a cliff in NSW alongside her daughter has been identified as 33-year-old Tanja Ludwig.
Ms Ludwig and her two-year-daughter girl died on Tuesday afternoon after going over the edge of a cliff at tourist spot Robertson Lookout in Mount Keira near Wollongong, in the Illawarra region, police said.
A NSW Police spokeswoman told Yahoo News Australia police are yet to lay any charges in relation to the death and are yet to receive a report from the Coroner.
Ms Ludwig’s neighbour Athena Kinnis told News Corp the 33-year-old was a “nice lady”.
“I can’t believe it,” she told News Corp.
“I’m going to miss her.”
On Tuesday, NSW Police said emergency services were called to the spot shortly after 1.50pm following reports of a “concern for welfare”.
The bodies of the young mum and her daughter were subsequently found beneath the lookout.
Cliff’s dark history
The cliff top lookout has a disturbing history.
It’s about one-and-a-half hour’s drive from Sydney and offers stunning views over Wollongong.
But it also has a dark past.
