A man has died in Sydney’s inner west overnight after a collision between a motorbike and a car on a major highway.

Emergency services were called to the Princes Highway in St Peters about 12.10am on Friday.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the rider, believed to be a man in his 30s, but he died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 46-year-old man, was uninjured and taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for mandatory testing.

A police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has been launched, while anyone with dashcam footage or further information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
