Mother and kids flee burning SA home

A mother and her four children have escaped a fire that has gutted their home south of Adelaide.

The family fled the house in Angas Plains, near Langhorne Creek, after being woken by smoke alarms at about 11:30pm on Thursday, the SA Country Fire Service says.

Firefighters took about an hour to put out the blaze, which they say was caused by a heater and has caused up to $360,000 in damage.
