'Inexcusable': Moment TV reporter sexually harassed during broadcast
A female TV reporter has called out the disgusting moment she was sexually harassed while filming a broadcast.
Canadian reporter Krista Sharpe was doing a piece to camera in Kitchener, in Ontario, when a passerby in a car yelled the vulgar comment, “f*** her in the p****”.
In a video posted to Twitter by Sharpe, the female reporter is delivering her report when a man yells the misogynistic obscenity at her out a car window.
Sharpe then lowers her microphone and watches the car drive away, before exhaling while visibly shaken by the comment.
“This is not funny and it’s not cool,” the reporter wrote on Twitter.
“As much as I’d love to say it doesn’t bother me, it does.
“It makes me feel like s***. Especially as [a video journalist] who is always alone.
“This still happens to female reporters everywhere and it needs to stop.”
Sharpe received a barrage of support after posting the clip of the incident, with people denouncing the comment.
“My heart breaks for you and every woman who has to put up with this. It shouldn’t be this way. The pain on your face ... I’m sorry,” one man wrote.
“I’m sorry that you had to deal with this. I’ll never understand why immature people think this is funny, it’s not, it’s just stupid,” another said.
A third questioned whether men had ever thought about how unsafe those types of comments made women feel.
“This is inexcusable,” another added.
Reporter confronts men during live cross
Video bombing reporters during broadcasts to yell “f*** her right in the p****” has become a trend after a hoax video went viral in 2014.
Comedian John Cain filmed a fake video that appeared to show a journalist making the obscene remarks about a missing woman he was reporting on.
In 2015, City News reporter confronted soccer fans who made a vulgar comment to her during a live report in the Canadian city of Toronto.
After a soccer fan yelled, “f*** her right in the p****”, during her live report, she hit back at the disturbing comment.
“It’s a disgusting thing to say, it’s degrading to women,” she said to one of the men who defended the act, according to the Toronto Star.
“You would humiliate me on live television?
“I am sick of it. I get this every single day. Ten times a day by rude guys like you.”

In June last year a female reporter was allegedly assaulted live on air while covering Black Lives Matter protests in London.
Nine News correspondent Sophie Walsh was heard screaming during a live broadcast and looked visibly shaken when the camera cut to her.
Walsh, who is the European reporter for Nine News, told her colleague: “Sorry, I just had someone come up and try and ... yeah.
“A man just came up and grabbed me. He's not armed. A man just came up and grabbed me though.”
She was unharmed in the incident.
In 2018, Fox Sports journalist Maris Fernada Mora hit a male fan with a microphone after she was allegedly groped during a live cross.
