Moment crash ends in road rage attack

A teenage boy has been charged after he allegedly beat up a car that tried to flee a crash scene in Melbourne.

Horrified onlookers watched as a dramatic crash between two cars on Sydney Rd in Fawkner about 1.40pm on Wednesday quickly descended into the alleged physical attack.

The shocking incident was caught on camera by a witness sitting in surrounding traffic and shows a group of males approach the car before kicking the windscreen and smashing the windows.

The footage shows one of the males smash a window and launch to reach inside before two passengers make their escape from inside the car.

Police allege two cars were involved in a collision before one of the vehicles attempted to flee the scene and crashed into a third vehicle.

The drivers of the first two vehicles were allegedly involved in a physical altercation, with a 17-year-old boy accused of damaging the car.

The 17-year-old boy, who resides in NSW, was charged with affray, assault and criminal damage and has been bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
