Boy, 15, 'attacked by tattooed man' in busy shopping centre

Police are hunting a tattooed man who allegedly assaulted a 15-year-old boy, in what was believed to be an unprovoked attack, at a Queensland shopping centre.

The Sunshine Coast teenager was walking with friends through Kawana Shoppingworld when he was approached by stranger who began making threats and telling him to move out of the way, police said.

The man can be seen on the video pushing the boy over before slapping him across the face and walking away, about 2.40pm last Monday.

The boy suffered a minor injury to his mouth as a result of the attack.

Police have released the video in the hope someone may recognise the man, described as Caucasian in appearance, around 182cm tall, aged in his 40s or 50s with grey hair and tattoos on his arms and leg.
