Molina Healthcare of New Mexico Offers Support to the Navajo Nation During Coronavirus Pandemic

Molina Healthcare of New Mexico ("Molina") is donating a relief package that includes medical supplies for families, Indian Health Services ("IHS"), and 638 facilities across the Navajo Nation that are experiencing hardships as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The relief package includes 5,000 rapid test kits, 240 N95 masks, 200 first aid kits, cleaning supplies, and $25,000 for food supplies.

"Molina has been in conversations with the Navajo Nation government, Naat’áanii Development Corporation, community organizations, clinics, and local leaders to identify families and areas in immediate need," said Carolyn Ingram, EVP of policy and government affairs, Molina Healthcare. "Many health facilities are experiencing patient surges and require test kits, masks, and distribution channels to safely ship supplies to their intended recipients; Molina is eager to help. In addition, we have been actively reaching out to IHS and the 638 facilities across the Navajo Nation to assess the need, number, and interest for rapid test kits within their facilities."

Molina is communicating with community and Navajo leaders, clinics, and representatives on the ground to keep updated with the rapidly changing needs of the community. Molina is also seeking to identify manufacturers to provide supplies needed by the Navajo Nation.
