Model's final moments captured on CCTV before mysterious death

The heartbroken family of a young model who died after being mysteriously shot while driving to work are hoping CCTV footage might shed some light on what happened to her.

Kelsey Quayle, 28, was on her way to her job at a dental practice in the US state of Georgia last week when she was hit by a bullet that severed her spinal cord at the base of her brain.

She then lost control of her Mazda, veering into oncoming traffic and slamming into two cars. Upon arriving at hospital with serious injuries, it was discovered she also had an unexplained bullet wound.

On Wednesday, her family made the difficult decision to switch off her life support.

Police have now released surveillance video of the moment before Ms Quayle’s vehicle began drifting into oncoming traffic before crashing into two other cars. They are hoping it might help find the model’s killer.

“It seems to us to be random at this time. In our investigation, none of it takes it down a path that seems to be targeted. We have not been advised of any information in reference to anybody shooting in the area,” Clayton County Police Department Captain Scott Stubbs told local media.

“We would especially like to speak with the driver of the white SUV and the driver of the grey sedan that is seen passing Kelsey’s vehicle as it is traveling in the lanes of oncoming traffic.”

Ms Quayle had moved to Georgia just a few months earlier alongside to pursue her modelling career in Atlanta.

Her devastated sister, Kayleigh Martin, said she just wants to know what happened.

“I just want to know who did this. It’s ridiculous. She didn’t deserve this,” Ms Martin said.

“She was beautiful, she was the sweetest person she was humble she was a model but she never let that get to her head. She loved everybody, everybody loved her.”

A GoFundMe page set up to help with funeral costs described Ms Quayle as “kind, loving, sweet, and so caring towards others.”

“She was an amazing daughter, sister, friend and girlfriend,” the GoFundMe page states.

“She wouldn’t have passed so early on in life but she is now in peace and in heaven.”
