A Brazilian model is turning heads with her bizarre habit she says boosts her libido and helps her get to sleep.

Letícia Martins, 23, goes by Lunna Leblanc on Instagram where the bikini model and influencer keeps fans engaged with a mixture of stunning snaps and sunbaking snaps.

The model and self-titled ‘bad girl’ took things in a slightly different direction on Tuesday when she uploaded a snap which at first glance seemed to be the kind of explicit content typically barred from Instagram, but upon closer inspection was something far stranger.

Luna’s ‘vagina sunbathing’ trick baffles

The photo taken from under a sun hat shows Lunna’s ribs and abdomen, her legs akimbo as she lies naked on a deck, her hand preventing anything explicit from being shown.

It turns out she’s simply, sunbathing, but it was the ‘why’ that had fans truly gobsmacked.

“Nothing better than [some] morning sun...” she wrote. “Did you know that exposing your private parts to the sun can provide you with more energy, increase your libido, improve the circadian rhythm (which regulates the entire functioning of the human body) and still help you get a good night's sleep?”

“What do you think of this experience?”

Many of the model’s 13,000 followers loved the post, commenting happy emojis and simple ‘wows’, others found the whole thing seriously baffling and didn’t shy away from telling her so.

One did warn not to bathe too long for fear of a nasty sunburn where you’d never want one.

It’s not the first time exposing the nether regions to the sun has caused a stir.

Last year a self-professed ‘healer’ shared images of her ‘sunning her perineum’ in a similar practice to what Lunna is promoting.

The woman, known as Metaphysical Meghan, claimed that the Taoist practice strengthens the organs, increases creativity, promotes deeper sleep, grounds and connects you to the earth and regulates hormone function amongst a host of other benefits.

It’s also supposed to have the same sun benefits as spending a whole day in the sun wearing clothes.

Though some alternative wellbeing coaches and healers endorsed the practice, medical professionals were not as convinced.

"There is no evidence that sunbathing in this way has any effect on physical wellbeing," Dr Diana Gall from Doctor-4-U told Insider when the post was going viral in November 2019.

"Yes, practising mindfulness and meditation, and getting your dose of Vitamin D, is beneficial for mental and physical health, but you don't need to damage your skin in the process from sun exposure."
