Mobility scooter rider dies after crash with car

A mobility scooter rider has died after a collision with a car.

Police were called on Thursday at about 09:00 BST to a traffic light-controlled crossing by the shopping centre on Queensway in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

A 79-year-old man from the town had been riding a mobility scooter when he was involved in a crash with a silver Kia.

He was treated at the scene but died a short time later.

Herts Police is appealing for witnesses to help with the investigation.
