MMA fighter kicked off Survivor after head-butting fellow contestant

Reality TV show ‘Survivor’ is a brutal competition, but a contestant on the Romanian version of the program got quite a bit more than he bargained for.

Former MMA fighter Ana Maria Pal had just lost a challenge on the show, when the aforementioned contestant thought it would be funny to rub it in her face.

After seemingly saying something to her to catch her attention, the 26-year-old Pal shoved the man, before headbutting him in the nose.

Pal, who last fought professionally as a flyweight last September, boasts two wins from five fights, according to MMA website Tapology.

She was immediately kicked off the show, which was being filmed in the Dominican Republic, but later said in reports that her victim, Andrei Ciobanul, ‘deserved it’.

The Romanian edition of Survivor is no stranger to having trained fighters as contestant’s with Diana Belbita, who won a UFC contract after appearing on the show, taking to Instagram to register her disapproval.

“I cannot agree with the gesture tonight of Ana Maria Pal,” she wrote.

“It is not a typical gesture for performance fighters and I would like to avoid generalising.

“If Ana made this gesture, she’s the only one who takes it … This is not a typical gesture for a fighter, Ana Maria is the only one who assumes the consequences.
