Missing You star Rosalind Eleazar reveals how show almost ruined her honeymoon
The Slow Horses star landed the lead role in Netflix's latest Harlan Coben thriller despite going 'off grid' to get married.
What did you miss?
Missing You star Rosalind Eleazar has revealed how landing the starring role in the new Netflix thriller almost ruined her honeymoon.
The Slow Horses star appeared on The One Show on Tuesday, 7 January, alongside Richard Armitage to discuss starring the latest Harlan Coben thriller, which follows the successful limited series Fool Me Once, starring Michelle Keegan, also based on one of Coben's hit novels.
Eleazar admitted that she almost missed out on the role, but thanks to her persistent agent she was sent the book and persuaded it was a part she could not miss out on.
What, how, and why?
Eleazar had gone "off grid" in 2023 as she was getting married. But while she was preparing for her wedding her agent sent her Harlan Coben's book as they were sure she would not want to miss out on the role of Detective Donovan in the new drama.
She told The One Show hosts Lauren Laverne and Gaby Roslin: "I got married last year and I said, 'Can I have some space surrounding my wedding?' As you do. And so the day after my wedding, when I was about to go on my honeymoon. I got an email and they said, 'I'm really sorry, Ros — you're gonna have to take a look at this'.
"And so I spent the honeymoon reading his book. So my husband was really, really happy about it — he had a great time!"

"But I'm so, so happy I did. The book is so good. And I read it in one sitting. And the final chapter of that book, for people that haven't seen it, it, it will blow your mind. You really don't think that the that the story is going there."
Londoner Eleazar is married to Italian actor Gabriele Lo Giudice, known for roles in TV shows Atlanta and Leonardo. They married on the Greek island of Paros in September 2023.

Strictly semi-finalist Pete Wicks was also on the sofa to discuss his new show Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake, airing on U&W, which followed him when he volunteered at rehoming centre for rescue dogs.
Dog lover Wicks confessed: "I prefer dogs to people — just because they make me feel safe, they make me feel happy, dogs don't really want anything from you other than love, trust and what they give back is tenfold, and I just think that's a really beautiful thing."
The show featured some recent research by the University of Essex into regional accents and how some teenagers from Essex feel pressured to change the way they talk due to a negative perception of their accent.
Wicks said: "TOWIE [The Only Way Is Essex], obviously Essex based and and the accent that comes with TOWIE and everything that that's about. But I do think that the Essex accent gets a bit of a bad rap because I think as soon as you kind of open your mouth with an Essex accent, everyone thinks you're a bit of a doughnut. But I do think that accents is more about what you're saying, not how you say it."
Actor Armitage, star of The Hoobit, Spooks, Fool Me Once and Red Eye was born in Leicestershire. But he revealed he had been pressured to put on a Yorkshire accent early on his career.
He said: "I remember doing voiceovers early on in my career, and I did one or bank commercials for high street banks, and they kept asking me to go in more northern because apparently if you sound like you're from Yorkshire, you're more likely to open a bank account with me apparently."
The One Show airs on BBC One at 7pm on weekdays.
Harlan Coben’s Missing You is available to stream on Netflix.
