Missing NSW man found waist deep in river

A man who had been reported missing from his Sydney home has been found by police in a river.

The 62-year-old man was reported missing from his home in Campsie about 6pm on Sunday. About 8.45pm, officers responded to reports of a man moaning in the vicinity of the Cooks River.

The officers searched the banks and found the man waist deep in the water. They pulled him out and he was taken to St George Hospital for treatment for possible exposure.
