Missing NSW boy with Down Syndrome found dead

The body of a missing boy with Down Syndrome who vanished overnight in north-west NSW has been found.

Braxton Plant, 6, was last seen at his home on Wallangra Road, Wallangra, about 4pm on Wednesday.

NSW Police said his body was found by police divers at 3.15pm on Thursday in a dam on his property following an extensive search.

Braxton, who is non-verbal, was last seen by his family while playing in the mud and not wearing any clothes.

Emergency services were contacted about 7pm on Wednesday, and the search continued through the night and involved a police helicopter.

Police thanked the public for their assistance.
