Missing mum and four children found dead after man crashes his car

Police discovered the body of a man’s wife in a car he crashed just one day after the woman’s family reported her and her four children missing.

Detectives believe Michael Jones murdered his wife Casei Jones and her four children Cameron, 10, Preston, 5, Mercalli, 2, and Aiyana, 1, and kept them stored for weeks inside a van at his home.

The woman and her young children were murdered in Marion County, Florida, at their Summerfield home, police believe, and were reported missing on September 14 after not being seen for six weeks.

After keeping the bodies at his home for an extended period, he allegedly transported them to a location in Brantley County, Georgia.

When police attended the scene of his car accident on September 15 and coincidentally located his missing wife, inquiries to locate the children began.

Jones later led police to where he had dumped their bodies.

Although the remains had not been positively identified, detectives believed they were the remains of the four missing children.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest for committing Second Degree Murder in Marion County, Florida, Marion County Sheriff's Office wrote to Facebook.

“Unfortunately, true evil has poked its head up here in Marion County,” Sheriff Billy Woods told the media in a press conference.

“(Michael Jones) has no right to walk the face of this Earth. I hate to be him when he stands before the Lord.

“Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do to bring those children back.”
