The body of an elderly Perth man who sparked a search after he went missing has been found in the ocean.
William Joseph Wayne, 76, was last seen at Mosman Park on Friday afternoon, with his car later found in the nearby suburb of Swanbourne, police said.
SES volunteers then found his belongings on the coast at Swanbourne and on Saturday afternoon marine rescue volunteers located his body 3km of the coast of Hillarys.
Senior Sergeant Rod Hawkins thanked the emergency service volunteers for their assistance with the search.
"We were all hoping to find Mr Wayne alive, however sadly this was not the way the search ended.
"It is a tragic outcome for Mr Wayne's family and we are offering them the support they need."
Mr Wayne's death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
