Woman wakes to find front door open and autistic teen sister missing

A teenager with autism is missing in Sydney’s west after her sister woke up early in the morning to find the front door open and the 19-year-old gone.

Catherine Nguyen, who has autism, was last seen about 2.30am on Friday in her family home on Elliston Street in Chester Hill.

Her sister woke at 6.30am to find the front door open and Ms Nguyen missing.

Ms Nguyen is described as being of Asian appearance with short black hair and olive skin.

She was last seen wearing a green and brown T-shirt with navy blue long pants, carrying a green shopping bag.

Family have told police she often frequented the CBD.

Bankstown police are appealing for public assistance to locate the 19-year-old.
