Teen missing for two years found in suspected paedophile's cupboard

A teenage boy who had been missing for two-and-a-half years has been found alive in a closet of a suspected paedophile’s home during a police raid.

Police were searching the home of a 44-year-old man in Germany, who was suspected of distributing child pornography when the boy was discovered, according to CNN.

The police said in a statement the boy was discovered in a closet and a spokesperson confirmed to CNN the boy, who is 15-years-old, had been missing for two-and-a-half years.

Police said there was no indication the boy was kept in the apartment against his will.

However, the boy allegedly said to his mother he “couldn’t get any fresh air” for two years.

“I always said he was either dead or somewhere he could not get in touch with me,” his mother said.

According to The Sun, following the death of his father, the boy was taken to a care home before he disappeared.

Following the discovery, the police arrested the 44-year-old man and another man, who is believed to be his 77-year-old father and was in the apartment at the time of the arrests.

A sniffer dog managed to find data storage units from within the apartment, which police are now investigating.
