Missed out on Powerball? The $400 million lottery Aussies can enter

If $400 million is on the top of your Christmas list, you’re in for a treat because the USA Power Lotto is offering Aussies the chance to win millions in this week’s draw.

Anyone who missed out on Thursday’s Powerball draw has a second chance at becoming a multi-millionaire this Tuesday, December 7 with the $400 million USA Power Lotto draw.

Earlier this year, the USA Power Lotto helped one lucky NSW player take home a $1.7 million win through Australian provider The Lottery Office.

The Lottery Office is Australian-owned, operated and licensed by the Northern Territory Government, with offices in Darwin and on the Gold Coast.

Australians can't take part in overseas lottery draws directly, but if they buy a ticket with the Lottery Office, the office will purchase a matching ticket in the overseas draw on their behalf.

“If the customer wins, we pay them the exact amount of the winnings we collect from the overseas lottery ticket,” explained the Lottery Office CEO, Jaclyn Wood.

NSW man makes history after scoring $1,656,020 win

Ms Wood said the previous NSW winner proved that players don’t need to be a division one winner in order to score a life-changing win.

“The division two winner was one number short of claiming $170 million. His win was boosted because he accidentally selected a multiplier game for an extra $3.45, which doubled his division two base prize of $828,000,” Ms Wood said.

The lucky player may not have scored a division one prize, but his $1,656,020 win remains Australia’s largest payout from an online lottery provider.

Ms Wood explained that the winning man had been alerted to his win by The Lottery Office App the night before and had hardly slept a wink, as he felt the news was too good to be true.

Lottery win saves restaurant on 'brink' of closure

“Once I confirmed with him over the phone he was in tears. As a result of Covid, he had been on the brink of shutting down his restaurant,” she explained.

“Making these winners calls to our players and hearing their stories is such a joy. I’m looking forward to this draw as yet another opportunity to make a life-changing call to a well deserving Aussie player,” she said.

The USA Power Lotto closes midday (AEDT) Tuesday December 7. Players can buy their tickets from the Lottery Office website at lotteryoffice.com.au or through the app.
