'Supervillain of the internet': Controversial Milo Yiannopoulos set to tour Australia

He’s been dubbed the “supervillain of the internet” and now Milo Yiannopoulos will be bringing his brand controversial commentary down under.

The right-wing troll and early supporter of Donald Trump's move into politics, Mr Yiannopoulos has shown disdain for minorities, transgender issues, the Black Lives Matter movement and opposition to gay rights - despite identifying as homosexual.

But even though he’s likely to face hostility when he tours Australia, Yiannopolous told News Corp he’s looking forward to the tour.

“I can’t wait to bring my Troll Academy Tour to Australia and to meet all my Australian fans and make some new friends,” he said.

Tickets start at $19 for students and $89 for “Gold Seating”.

The tour also offers VIP tickets, which includes a photo with the provocateur before the show, and backstage passes for $1495.

The 32-year-old toured the University of California, Berkeley in February with his Dangerous Faggott show.

It culminated in violent riots on campus.

President Trump tweeted to the University’s governing body that if they did not allow free speech he would cut annual funding.

Yiannopolous toured returned to the campus last week but only last 20 minutes before security had to escort him away due to protestors.

That same month the journalist lost a book deal and speaking role at conservative conference in the US over earlier comments that seemed to defend paedophilia.

He tried to defend his comments as a “blend of British sarcasm, provocation and gallows humour”.

He begins his tour in Adelaide on Friday, December 1.
