Milk formula factory opens doors in SA

A new processing plant for turning powdered milk into milk formula has opened its doors in South Australia's southeast.

Premier Jay Weatherill says the factory in Tantanoola, run by the Chinese-owned Blue Lake Dairy Group, will boost the local economy and create almost 40 jobs.

The plant is the first milestone of a two-stage expansion for the company, with the second likely to be a $50 million factory for converting milk into powder.
