Colorado wildlife officials said Monday that they captured and plan to relocate five members of the first pack of wolves to form under the state's ambitious wolf reintroduction program. An injured cassowary was successfully reunited with its father after it was found on a property in Bingil Bay on September 3.Footage released by the Queensland Department of Environment, Science and Innovation shows the moment the cassowary chick was reunited with its father on September 4.The department said the chick, called a “stripey” because of its feather pattern, was found injured on a property in Bingil Bay, sitting “listlessly” with a “large gash” on its neck.The bird was taken to a local vet where the injury was deemed to be superficial.However, wildlife officers were worried that the cassowary father would no longer recognize its youngster, and hurried the young bird back to Bingil Bay the next day.Luckily, the stripey and its father were successfully reunited.The department warned that cassowaries are dangerous animals that can inflict serious injuries to people and pets by kicking out with their clawed feet.People were asked to follow department advice to be cass-o-wary around the animals.
