Michelle Pfeiffer has debuted a new look that’s so radically different even her famous friends had trouble recognising her.
The 62-year-old A-lister revealed she’d switched up her iconic blonde locks for a fiery red ‘do in a post on her Instagram.
The snap turned out to be a throwback to the Batman Returns star’s time on the set of her upcoming film French Exit in which she plays the titular role of broke New York socialite, Frances Price.
“Becoming Frances Price. #FrenchExit,” Michelle captioned the selfie which showed her sporting a black coat and matching bright red lipstick.
Her dramatic makeover left her celeb pals doing double-takes, with several popping up in the comments section to share their astonishment.
“It’s wildly different,” declared Cruel Intentions star Selma Blair.
“Of course it looks great. And I see a bit of Hermione,” she added in reference to Emma Watson’s flame-haired character in the Harry Potter films.
Comedian Chelsea Handler mistook Michelle for the redheaded actor Bryce Dallas Howard of Jurassic Park fame.
A few fans had other ideas, with one arguing, “No she looks like Jessica Chastain.”
“Yes a mix of Bryce Dallas Howard and Jessica Chastain,” another agreed.
Others simply shared compliments, such as supermodel Naomi Campbell who wrote, “Beauty in Red” while Michelle’s sister-in-law, Rona Pfeiffer, said, “Damn you look good”.
Iconic redhead Julianne Moore posted several flame emojis which we’re interpreting as her sign of approval.
