Mercedes Benz goes up in flames after burnout goes wrong
A Mercedes Benz owner’s pride and joy has gone up in flames after he attempted a burnout in Sydney’s west.
The driver, 25, was behind the wheel of a Mercedes Benz AMG C63S coupe on the weekend when he attempted a burnout in front of a crowd on Marks Street, Chester Hill, police said.
Video obtained by Auburn 2144 and shared to Facebook shows the driver revving his engine.
But as he inches forward on the road smoke begins to billow from the car before it catches alight.
The video then shows the driver and his two passengers scramble to get out.
Fortunately, no one was injured but the fire completely destroyed the Mercedes and damaged the road.
The car is worth more than $100,000 and according to 7News, the owner had won the Mercedes as a prize.
The driver was charged with driving in a dangerous manner and negligent driving. He will face court on March 11.
