Mercedes Benz driver accused of drink driving twice in five hours

A Queensland woman has allegedly been caught drink driving twice in five hours in northern NSW.

The 30-year-old was behind the wheel of a blue Mercedes Benz when she was stopped on the side of Gwydir Highway, Inverell on Friday about 11pm (AEDT).

She returned a positive breath test and allegedly returned a high-range reading of 0.171.

The woman was charged with high-range drink driving and arrested.

Police discovered she had been detected driving with a mid-range offence of 0.115 at Tenterfield, about 160km north-east of Inverell, about five hours earlier.

She has been suspended from driving in NSW and her Mercedes was seized.

The woman was granted bail and will appear in Tenterfield Local Court on January 28.
