The often extortionate delivery free slapped on top of food ordered via popular meal delivering services can be enough to sour anyone’s appetite.
Next week however, home diners can put the extra tax to the back of their mind, or consider splashing their saved dollars on fancy sides or extras.
Between Tuesday and Thursday, delivery fees will be wiped for people using the Menulog phone app in Queensland, NSW, the ACT, South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory.
The rare offer will be available on all purchases besides those made through KFC, the food delivery service announced on Friday.
The event, dubbed the Menulog Free Delivery Fest, will be available at all hours of the day between September 29 at 12.01am and October 1 at 11.59pm.
All restaurants in Western Australia will be excluded, along with KFC stores nationwide.
Participating restaurants will feature a “free delivery” icon on their listing in the search results section of the app.
Menulog said there would be a specialised section for people in Western Australia via the app’s “for you” section.
