Man charged after Aussie woman found dead in London apartment

A man is due to face court in London charged with the murder of his Melbourne fiancée.

The body of Amy Parsons, 35, was found in a flat at Whitechapel in central London on Friday about 1.30pm (local time).

Roderick Deakin-White, 37, was arrested on suspicion of murder the same day and has since been charged.

He was due at Thames Magistrates Court on Monday.

It is believed Ms Parsons and Deakin-White were engaged and Ms Parsons, a former Koonung Secondary College student, had visited Melbourne as recently as January.

Investigators are not looking for anyone else in connection with the killing, Met Police said.

The cause of death has not been confirmed.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said consular officials were providing assistance to Ms Parsons' family.
