Melbourne trams to stop amid pay fight

The world's largest operational tram network will grind to a halt for four hours as a stoush between the Melbourne operator and union deteriorate further.

The Rail, Tram and Bus Union have announced a stoppage between 10am until 2pm on Friday, August 30.

The union had already announced that from August 26, Yarra Trams staff won't do voluntary overtime, cover shifts on days off or wear uniforms, the Victorian Rail, Tram and Bus Union announced.
