- Ten Melbourne postcodes, July 1 to July 8, 2020, seven days (not counted in the overall citywide figure)

- Melbourne, July 8 to October 27, 2020, 112 days

* Lockdown three

- Statewide, February 12 to February 17, 2021, five days

* Lockdown four

- Melbourne, May 27 to June 10, 2021, 14 days

* Lockdown five

- Statewide, July 15 to July 27, 2021, 12 days

* Lockdown six

- Melbourne, August 5 and ongoing until at least September 2, 14 days to Thursday, August 19

NEW CASES

* 57 new locally acquired cases - the state's highest daily total reported since September 9, 2020 (76 at the time, since revised down to 70)

- 38 linked to Al-Taqwa College, students and households

- Three to Glenroy West Primary School

- One to Caroline Springs Shopping Centre

- One to Newport Football Club

- One to Newport community case

- One to 510 Lygon St residential tower, a close contact

- Three to St Kilda East cluster

- Three to various household contacts of positive cases

- Three to Central Park Pizza Shop, close contacts of teenage worker

* Three unlinked 'mystery' cases

- One in Glenroy

- One in Ascot Vale

- One in Doncaster

* 44 cases isolating while infectious

* 13 cases were not isolating while infectious

* 14 people in hospital, three of whom are in intensive care including one on a ventilator

* 296 active cases, up 50

* 49,607 tests in the 24 hours to Thursday morning

VACCINATIONS

* 27,581 vaccines administered on Wednesday at state-run hubs

* Of the 529 locally acquired cases notified between July 12 and August 18

- 80 were eligible to be vaccinated but were not

- 45 had received one dose of the vaccine

- 23 were fully vaccinated

* Of the 14 patients currently in hospital

- Five were not eligible for the vaccine

- Nine were eligible for a vaccine but had not received it

- None were either partially or fully vaccinated

CLOSE CONTACTS

* About 12,000 primary close contacts

EXPOSURE SITES

* More than 480 listed including a pizza shop in Prahran, Melbourne CBD bank and daycare and kindergarten centres
