A convicted Victorian fraudster has now also been jailed for sexually abusing his stepdaughter and niece.
The 51-year-old man lured one of the girls with an offer of ice-cream, while also molesting them on a bus and in a family cubby house, during a series of offences from 2011 to 2018.
The pedophile on Thursday faced the Victorian County Court, where he was sentenced to five years and six months in prison, with a non-parole period of three years and six months.
The judge said the Melbourne man had exploited his role as the "natural trustee" of the young girls to satisfy his own "perverted sexual needs".
"Instead of nurturing them, you have behaved in an appalling manner," he told the court.
"Given the age of victims at the time of offending, they were inherently vulnerable."
The man earlier pleaded guilty to multiple charges including incest and indecently assaulting a child under 16.
A victim impact statement read to the court revealed one of the girls had blamed herself for the abuse, while the offender's former wife had been left "feeling sick and disgusted", with an otherwise close family unit now fractured.
The judge accepted the 51-year-old, who has a substantial criminal history involving personal dishonesty, had shown remorse through his guilty plea.
