How Meghan Markle kept her stunning $350,000 wedding dress secret
Billions of people around their world were glued to their screens as Meghan Markle emerged from a Rolls Royce at St George’s Chapel, revealing her stunning wedding dress.
Until yesterday, only five people in the world knew details about Meghan’s wedding dress – the bride, her best friend, designer Clare Waight Keller and two discreet assistants at Givenchy.
Meghan was able to keep her wedding dress a secret by running a covert operation with the designer, meeting at her Chelsea home rather than visiting the French fashion house’s headquarters in Paris.
She would dash across London loosely disguised in a baseball cap or beanie for the dress fittings of her ivory-white gown in the lead up to the Royal Wedding, with the dress estimated to have cost $350,000 AUD.
The designer said Harry spoke to her after the ceremony: ‘He came straight up to me and he said “oh my God, thank you, she looks absolutely stunning”.
