Meghan, Duchess of Sussex says the holiday season 'gets better every year' for her
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex has found that the holidays "get better" with every passing year.
The 43-year-old former actress - who is married to Prince Harry, 40, and has Prince Archie, five, as well as three-year-old Princess Lilibet with him - infamously relinquished all royal duties to move to LA with her husband in 2020 and has now noted that she enjoys each festive season more than the last because she gets to see it all through the eyes of her children.
She told Marie Claire: "I love the holidays. [The children] are now three and five, so every year it gets better. At first, I think as a mom with children you’re just enjoying having them there, but they’re not understanding everything that’s happening yet. But now we’re at the age where I just can’t wait to see it through their lens every year."
The 'Suits' star also noted that her Thanksgiving celebrations are "always pretty low-key" and enjoys being close to her mother Dora, who has a house in the same city.
When it comes to the November holiday, the Duchess also made the point that it is important to ensure that there is space at the family dining table for others who may not have anywhere to go,
She said: "I was thinking about, in the past few years of having Thanksgiving here, like many of us, I think you always make sure there’s room at the table for your friends who don’t have family, which is really key.
"We’re always making sure we have something fun to do.
"Like any other family you spend time having a great meal and then what do you do? Play games, all the same stuff, someone brings a guitar—fun.
"Every single holiday is a new adventure."
