In a meeting of two Ukrainian sporting legends, Olympic champion fencer Olha Kharlan greeted the former best football player in the world, Andriy Shevchenko.
The six-time world champion chatted with the former coach of Ukraine’s national football team and shared a selfie of the star-studded duo on Instagram.
“With a legend,” Kharlan said.
“It’s him standing with a legend,” her fans commented below.
Shevchenko won the Golden Ball Award as the world’s top football player in 2004, and finished third in the voting twice – in 1999 and 2000.
Kharlan was already famous – Barbie released a doll with her likeness in 2020 – before she became an international celebrity for refusing to shake hands with her Russian opponent at the 2023 world championships.
