Meat vending machine installed in upmarket department store
American department store Nordstrom is best known for selling designer fashion, accessories and makeup that could put a serious dent in your savings.
So it has come as some surprise to regular shoppers at the Seattle branch of Nordstrom to find that a meat vending machine had been installed in the men's department.
The vending machine sells a range of meat products from Owen's Meats, including beef jerky.
The owners of the meat vending machines have called it "a candy store for the carnivore".
The meat vendors have machines dotted throughout Seattle - at a brewery in Sumner and at a hardware store in Everett, to name just two.
But Nordstrom is definitely its most upmarket client.
Would customers more accustomed to spending $1000 on a pair of shoes be keen on getting their meat out of a machine?
Only time will tell.
